Microsoft Expands in Google's Turf

Microsoft has its roots in Silicon Valley.

The tech giant based in Washington, said it would buy and the expansion of the real estate was leased for the past 15 years in the court of Mountain View Google.

The plan is to significantly redesign the installation of five buildings, to be able to accommodate additional employees 500-1000.

Microsoft currently has about 2,000 people working in a variety of places in the Bay region, which has had a presence since 1981.

The teams in the region, Microsoft is working on projects including Xbox, Outlook, Skype and Yammer.

The provision of a new campus artist released by the company shows a green compound with an expansive courtyard and at least one living roof.

The company still has to go through the authorization process in Mountain View, and construction is not likely to begin before 2017 and take three years to complete, Microsoft spokesman Emily Horn said.

It is hard not to read a lot of symbolism in the new real estate Microsoft.

In the fall of 2014, the company dismissed 160 employees based Bay Area through further cuts in its workforce related to broader restructuring of the company.

But guided by the Director-General Satya Nadella, who took over in February 2014, Microsoft has made a remarkable recovery from its roots as a solitary giant software sales to be a mobile by the company and the first cloud-approved associations with Silicon Valley companies such as Salesforce and Box.

Leveraging its presence in Silicon Valley also help Microsoft compete for engineering talent that may not want to move to the Pacific Northwest.

The technology talent war is heating up because of the demand not only of existing technology giants and startups, but also the increasing number of automakers - including Ford and Toyota - are expanding their outposts in this technology -House hot as they race to develop autonomous vehicles.

Microsoft is not the only high-tech company that plans to build emblematic facilities in Silicon Valley.

Facebook employees last year to a new site, designed by Frank Gehry moved, while Google is making plans to build a new mini-city, near your current Googleplex.

But futuristic Apple takes the cake: the cash-rich company has been busy building a new office oval round, not far from its current location near Cupertino.
