Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella is on his annual vacation to India, and is likely to be in Hyderabad on Monday. But, unlike the newly appointed leader Google Sundar Pichai, visiting Nadella is very discreet.
Nadella, intends to be here for personal travel, must meet Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and visit the T-Hub campus incubator for start-up and the Microsoft development center in Hyderabad. T-Hub is an initiative of the government of Telangana.
Hyderabad born Nadella was a frequent visitor in the country, having come to India in November to attend the event future Unleashed Microsoft logo and meet with customers, partners and developers. Nadella was in India last year and during the Christmas holidays and New Year. At that time, he met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, besides visiting the Microsoft development center in India, where he held a town hall with employees across the country. In his official visit in September last year announced plans to Nadella local data centers in the country. The visit comes two weeks after Nadella visit Pichai acute born in Chennai in the country.
On his first visit to India - in fact, his first trip abroad - after he took over as CEO of Google, restructured in August, Pichai has made a series of commercials for India. He addressed the students of Shri Ram College of Commerce in New Delhi and stressed that Google has been increasingly looking to India as a land for future product development.
Pichai also attended a dinner hosted by President Pranab Mukherjee at Rashtrapati Bhavan with other business leaders and met with Modi.
Nadella and Pichai was among those who met the prime minister in September, during his visit to Silicon Valley. Digital project aims Modi India is seen as a great opportunity for technology giants. While Google Loon pitched his project to connect rural areas of the country, Microsoft has already carried out a pilot project in its White Space. The tech giant is betting big on the Indian market for its cloud-based solutions.
